Wilde Bainskloof Ultra and Half Marathon 2008

The Wilde Bainskloof Ultra Marathon 2008, is situated in the heart of the Boland and takes place during Spring for athletes with big hearts who enjoy a great challenge.  Bainskloof Pass has been declared a National Heritage Site and it is significant that this event takes place on Heritage Day, 24^th September 2008 from the Huguenot High Sports Field [HHS]. The beneficiaries of this event are ‘Arendsnes’ Street Children Project, Murray Children’s Home and a few other Children Homes in the Wellington area and fall under the auspices of WELVISI.

The Wilde Bainskloof Ultra Marathon is presented by the Wellington Athletics Club and organized by Itheko Events Management in accordance with the rules of Boland Athletics and ASA.

Three events will take place on this day:

• Wilde Bainskloof Ultra Marathon, 63.3km, starts at 6am from Huguenot High School and closing date for entries is Tuesday 23^rd September 2008. Entry Fee is R120.  Entries can be done online via  www.entrytime.co.za.  Entries are also available at all leading sports outlets and can be posted to Itheko Events Management P. O Box 228, Eppindust, 7475.  Entries must be received by latest Friday 19^th September 2008. Late entries will be accepted on Monday 22^nd September and Tuesday 23^rd September 2008 from 11am until 8pm at the Huguenot High School in Wellington. Prize money will be awarded in all age categories as per Boland Athletics.

• Wilde Bainskloof Half Marathon, 21.1km, starts at 7.30am from Huguenot High School and closing date for entries is Wednesday 24^th September 2008. Entry Fee is R45. Entries can be done online via www.entrytime.co.za.  Entries are available at all leading sports outlets and can be posted to Itheko Events Management P. O Box 228, Eppindust, 7475.  Entries must be received by latest Friday 19^th September 2008. Entries will also be accepted on Monday 22^nd September and Tuesday 23^rd September 2008 from 11am until 8pm at the Huguenot High School in Wellington. Late entries will be accepted on the morning of the race between 5am and 7am at the Huguenot High School in Wellington. Prize money will be awarded in all age categories as per Boland Athletics.

• Wilde Bainskloof 10km Fun Walk starts at 7:45am from Huguenot High School and entries take place on Monday 22^nd September and Tuesday 23^rd September 2008 from 11am until 8pm. Entry fee is R20.  Late entries will be accepted on the morning of the fun walk between 5am and 7.30am at the Huguenot High School in Wellington.

Medals will be awarded to all finishers.
